Cole is now in 6th grade. He is excited that this is his last year
Riian in 4th
Jackson in 2nd
The kids all got Converse this year. Cole and Riian stuck with neutral colored ones, but Jackson had to get the bright red ones.
Izzy doesn't start preschool until tomorrow, so I will have to post pictures of her next week. I was not as ready for the kids to go back as they were. It's probably because I am the membership chair in the PTA this year, and our big membership drive is back to school night, so I was pretty crazy the week leading into school and just didn't feel as put together as I would have liked. In fact, on Saturday, I had a complete melt-down from being stressed and the house being a disaster, that my family felt pity for me and cleaned the house from top to bottom.
Nate is still playing in a softball league every Monday night through the end of September, so we are still going to softball games, but now Riian started soccer as well. She hasn't played in the city league since kindergarten but has played at school. We are impressed at how good she is, but I feel sorry for them since all their games are between 5 and 6, which is the hottest part of the day here. I think the lowest temperature we've had at her games has been 92 this far. She is always bright red at the end, but still seems to enjoy it.
Our garden has struggled a bit this year, so Nate was very happy when it was time to harvest our potatoes. Although we only ended up with four pounds this year, he was happy that at least we got some.
That's about all from our household. Nothing really exciting, but enough to keep us busy. I'll leave you with a picture that is a daily sight at our house.

I still think calling them the "first day of school" shots is pushing the truth a bit :)
I love the Converse! E has some too. You may have seen him wearing them to church--I figure a 3-year-old can get away with it :)
