Memory Game

So I got this game from Tamsen and Jalynn and I thought I'd play along. Here are the rules

1. Leave a comment on my blog of a memory that you and I have had together (it doesn't matter if you know me a little or a lot, just anything that you remember).

2.Re-post these instructions on your blog. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you

If I don't know your blog, you may also have to tell me where it is.

Fourth of July weekend

Ok this is the last post of the day. Then I will be finally caught up and won't post again for another month. We had a great Fourth of July this year. My mom came out for about 5 days while Paul was playing cowboy up in Wyoming. On the fourth we went to a little carnival downtown Provo. We actually happened upon it kind of by mistake. Nate was doing a little demo of a show he is in this fall and we went down to see him. We thought there would be food and such at this place, but alas, we were wrong. After asking a few people they said that the food booths were actually about 3 blocks up the street so we walked up there to grab some food and lo and behold there were lots of little boutiques and carnival rides. Unfortunately I didn't have my camera with me. Nor my stroller, so it made for a very tired me having to carry Isabelle the whole day because she was extremelly crabby and refused to get down or let anyone else hold her. We did find out when we got home that she had a fever of 102, so we forgave her. That evening we went back to my house and had a BBQ with Shea's family, including Bern's mom who was visiting from Brazil, and some friends of ours. We ate waaayy to much food, playing silly games in the front yard (I'm pretty sure my neighbors are convinced of the craziness now), and set off our own fireworks. Grandma and Riley wrestling

I think someone forget to bring her a cookie

The next day we headed up to Liberty Park. It's a great park where there are lots of fountains and a little man made series of streams that lead into a wading pool. The kids had a blast. When we first got there, there was a nice older gentlemen who gave the kids bread to feed the geese. We then proceeded to play in the rivers. Isabelle wasn't too sure about it, but Cole and Riian were chasing each other around trying to splash Grandma and run away so she couldn't get them. By the end of the day she had ended up dunking both of them in the water at least twice. After the park, the boys took the kids home while the girls went shopping. There were some great sales and I got a skirt from my favorite store (J. Jill) that was originally $90, for $20. Good shopping day. We headed home after that and picked up JCW's for dinner because none of us wanted to cook

Alright, that's it. My shutter finger is officially tired. I don't think there will be any new pictures for a couple of weeks at least. Hopefully our life will calm down a little bit and we can get back to the lazy days of summer for the last month before school starts.

Jack's birthday

So I am trying to catch up on all these weeks of pictures that I haven't been writing about. I know I mentioned Jack's birthday but I thought I'd include some pictures of the event. On Saturday we went to Chuck E Cheese for lunch. Jack has been talking about going there since Riian's birthday. We played lots of silly games and won lots of tickets to buy lots of silly toys. We came back to our house for cake and presents. He received some dot-to-dot books (his current favorite thing to do), and aqua doodle, a couple of games and some Diego legos. He also got a thing of Bubble tape. The mean mom that I am, I don't let my kids eat gum until they are 4, I have learned that lesson the hard way. So he was very excited to get some gum. Sunday was his actual birthday and we celebrated by having a special birthday dinner for him. It consisted of Hot Dogs and mashed potatoes, "chocolate" beans (what my kids called baked beans), broccoli and homemade biscuits with homemade strawberry jam (don't be impressed it's the only thing I know how to make and can).

Ok Ok, so that last shot is not of Jack, but it was too cute to pass up. Izzy loves dogs. So she climbed up on the rocking chair with her doggie and proceeded to cuddle. Once again, we love you buddy and we are glad to celebrate one more year with you

...still more vacation

On Monday we left to go back to Seattle and spend some time with my brother. We got there about lunch and he took us to a yummy Pizza place, that I wish I could remember the name but I really can't. But it was super yummy We then went to the children's museum in the Seattle Center. They had lots of hands on fun things to do. Our favorites were the room that was filled with lots of tubes and you could put balls in the tubes and air would shoot them through different tunnels ( I really do a bad job of describing things). We also really liked the art room.

We then took the kids to the beach, although it wasn't what I considered "beach weather". I didn't let the kids put on their swimsuits because it was only like 60 degrees. But we soon regretted that as the kids wanted to get in the water, and ended up getting their clothes pretty wet. Unfortunately Nate and Izzy were both feeling a little sick so only came out to the beach for a little while after napping in the carThis is Cole leading Jack down to the water

And this is how Jack felt about that

The next day our plane left at 3, so we spent the morning at the Plane Museum, it actually has a real name, but I can't remember what it is. We were able to see replicas of many sorts of airplanes throughout history. The kids were able to "fly" their own Blue Angel jet. And we were able to go inside the Concord and Air Force One.

We then went to Red Mill for burgers before our plane left. The plane ride home was horrible, but I think that is because we were all tired and cranky

All in all it was a very good vacation and neither Nate nor I were anxious to get back to normal. Although we were extremely tired and I had to stay moving or else I would fall asleep. We got back on Tuesday and it took us the rest of the week just to recuperate. We loved seeing family and spending time together. We can't wait to do it again

Vacation Continued

Ok, so continuing with the vacation (I know it's been a while, it's summer... give me a break). The next day is when we had everyone who was going to be at the reunion there. So we decided to do some impromptu photo shoots with all the cousins.
These aren't all the cousins, but it's pretty close. Then they took a photo of the oldest children from the older four siblings (I guess it matches a photo that was taken some 20+ years ago)

I was able to get another cute snapshot of my sweet neice. She gives this cute cheesy smile when looking at the camera

We then proceeded to play games. I sat out of the volleyball championships (I don't do volleyball), but participated in the softball. We played the "in-laws" verses the "out-laws", the out-laws lost, but it was still great fun. On Sunday we officially ended the big family reunion at noon and then proceeded to relax the rest of the day at Amber and Chris'

We did end up taking the kids down to the river because we had been promising them that for a few days. It was really warm and nice to splash around in the river
To be continued...
