School's Out for Summer!!!

Maybe I'm the only parent who feels this way, but I love it when summer vacation begins. I like not sticking to such a rigorous schedule. I like not having to make sure the kids get their homework done or their reading done. Well, I like it until at least August, then I'm ready for it to be done. Riian graduated kindergarten this year. They had a ceremony with little hats and Riian was able to do a one sentence little speech. The ceremony only lasted 1/2 hour. And that included their little speeches and getting all 3 kindergarten classes their diplomas. I think that all graduations should try to abide by the same time constraints. Riian will miss her teacher, but she is so excited to be a first grader.

We ended up at Kangaroo Zoo again last Saturday. But this time Izzy was able to play on the slides. Uncle Berns took her on the jumping area for little ones. She was a bit tentative at first but soon was walking over there herself. She even braved one of the bigger bouncy toys toward the end and had fun being chased through the tunnels by Cole and Riian. Jackson had a fun time trying to evade the camera, but I did happen to get a couple good shots of him.

Isabelle has decided now that she is a big girl, she needs to accessorize. I must say she does a great job with her color coordination

See how the greens match almost perfectly. She was able to pick, out of 20 some markers, the perfect shade of green to eat. My husband wasn't so convinced of her color matching skills until yesterday when we were able to catch her before she did any damage, with an orange marker. She was wearing orange shorts and a shirt with orange stripes. Already such a young fashionista

You all keep mentioning this Kangaroo Zoo. This grandma needs to go sometime. Looks like cute kids having lots of fun. Did you slide or bounce or climb?

Izzy must take after her mommy to be so fashion conscience! Love all the pictures and stories. I'm glad it's summer too, but I'm pretty sure that my next week I will be wishing for school to start again.
